Radim Vizváry - Mime, Performer, Director, Teacher and Choreographer. He is the holder of the Thalia Award 2016 in Ballet, Pantomime and Dance-dramatic genre category. The production of Solo offers the BEST of his pantomime work. From classical pantomime to butó, from physical comedy to contemporary mime theatre. His pantomime is modern, clean and very up to date. Although he gets influenced by other styles, he always ends up on his own path. Radim Vizváry will present his classical and contemporary, poetic and comic works. You can laugh and cry without a single word from Radim – words are not necessary for his kind of art. The expression is purely physical and engages an ingenious movement with acting. Basically, you will see what pantomime means nowadays.
Radim Vizváry is one of the most distinguished internationally acclaimed personalities of contemporary non-verbal theatre in Europe. He graduated from the Music and Dance Faculty of the AMU in Prague, where he got his Ph.D. He has performed more than hundred shows as an author, performer, director, playwright and choreographer. He has performed his artistic work almost all over Europe, the USA, Asia and Africa. He is a co-founder of the internationally successful theatre ensemble ‘Tantehorse’, the head of the home-based artistic group Mime Prague, the director of the Tichá Opera ensemble, and also works with the National Theatre in Prague.
His artistic range includes his own methodics of body pantomime that he has developed into its present form. It solves the problems of non-verbal theatre, in the creative, pedagogical and theoretical areas. He even taught pantomime at HAMU and Cirque-on. He leads various workshops abroad at prestigious schools and festivals. He represents the Czech Republic as the artistic leader of the European Union project - The Undercreative Network. He is the artistic director and dramaturge of the MIME FEST festival (Polička, Praha) and ‘Comedians in the streets’ festival in Tábor.
He starred in films ’I am The Gate’ and ‘The Clowns’. He has been a member of The prominent personalities of the Oxford Encyclopedia since 2014. He was nominated for the Theatrical News Award in 2014 for the theme, choreography and performance in The UTER QUE. Vizváry holds the Polish Perla Award (2011) for LORCA production and many other awards in The EU and The USA.
